Arthur G. Lindell
Arthur G. Lindell, (1893-1982) Art Lindell was Alderman of the 9th Ward in Chicago’s Southeast side from 1933 to 1946. He resigned as Alderman to become Chicago’s Budget Director from 1947-1970 where he retired at age 76. He became 15th president of Lambda Alpha at a luncheon in the Chicago Real Estate Board rooms on December 28, 1946. The Chicago Tribune reported that Assistant United States District Attorney in charge of the land division, and president of the National Association of Better Housing, Clarence W. Beatty, spoke before the chapter on “The Definition of Slums.” Lindell died June 16, 1982 at age 89 in Lancaster, PA., where he had retired.
