Please join Lambda Alpha International’s Baltimore Chapter for our Virtual Presentation on Wednesday, June 16th at noon: The Baltimore Greenway Trail Network.

 The Baltimore Greenway Trail Network
The 35-mile network of The Greenway will link 75 neighborhoods across the City and only has 10 miles left to be completed.  Ernst & Young has projected that the $28 million expansion investment will result in a $314 million increase in property values, a $113 million increase in annual local business activity, substantial health benefits and major reductions in automobile trips. Click here for a map of the Greenway Trail Network.

The presentation will feature Jim Brown of the Rails-to-Trails Conservancy and Jeff La Noue of the City of Baltimore Planning Department.

Jim Brown, Director of TrailNation™ Projects at Rails-to-Trails Conservancy,  helps manage the development of trail networks across the country. Previously, he served as project manager for the Baltimore Greenway Trails Network. He knows the value of trails—connecting people to nature, fostering community development, and bringing tangible benefits to local communities. At RTC, Jim puts his passions to professional use by providing technical assistance to communities pursuing new trails, managing various capacity building programs, building diverse coalitions, locating resources, and working with partners to build and maintain trail networks across the country. Jim has experience in urban environmental education, community development, and international nonprofit issues. Previous experience includes the Baltimore City Department of Recreation and Parks and Peace Corps volunteer in rural Tanzania. He holds a bachelor’s degree in anthropology and a master’s degree in landscape architecture, and his academic research and ongoing projects have been presented at international greenway planning, landscape architecture, transportation, and urban design conferences.  A native Baltimorean, Jim lives in Remington with his wife and two young sons.
