Beyond Waikiki - Vacation Rentals and Suburban Limited Service Hotels on Oahu
We all know about the recent growth of visitor accommodations beyond Oahu's typical resort areas. Erik Kloninger will provide supply and market performance data for Oahu's vacation rentals as well as some of the underlying drivers of the growth in non-resort lodging supply. The early effects of the recent crackdown on vacation rentals will also be discussed.
Erik Kloninger is a Hawaii-based tourism and hospitality consultant. Before starting Kloninger & Sims Consulting, Erik worked at other local hospitality consulting practices, including Hospitality Advisors, Price Waterhouse Coopers and PKF Hawaii. Over the past 25 years, Erik has performed market and financial analyses of a variety of lodging types. His consulting experience also includes other tourism related businesses. Kloninger & Sims currently conducts several lodging supply studies for the Hawaii Tourism Authority.
