Lid, cover, cap, deck, land bridge.

By any name, building over highways presents opportunities to reconnect city neighborhoods long divided by busy thoroughfares. Minnesota currently has ten lids. Most provide parklike settings, but the potential is much greater.

Projects around the country have dramatically changed open highway trenches into pleasant, even vibrant places that influence land economics. Envision a highway lid that provides a transformational catalyst for social justice, and for the cultural and economic health of a community. This is what the Rondo land bridge proposed by ReConnectRondo in St. Paul imagines.

Join Keith Baker (pictured), managing director, ReConnectRondo; Michael A. Fischer, LHB Corp. and Edina City Council;
and Cyrus Knutson, Center for Community Connections, MN Department of Transportation, for a panel discussion about what is happening around the country and in Minnesota.
