NEVIN COMMENTARY
Negativism seems to pervade the economy this past year or two.
Economist Alan Nevin, LAI Fellow, San Diego Chapter, does not share the negativism and instead purveys a realistic picture of the strengths of the U.S. economy, marveling at how COVID and high interest rates have not caused the economy to crater.
With a 3.0-3.5% unemployment rate, 10 million job openings and 6.0 million new jobs created in 2022, negativism should not take up a lot of room in our thought process.
