Navigating Development Challenges, Uncertainty and Opportunities: Bills 44, 46 and 47

Join us for a development roundtable discussion with Rob Bruno (Polygon Homes), Beau Jarvis (Wesgroup Properties) and Elizabeth Yip (Terra Law) on the opportunities and uncertainties presented by the recent adoption of Bills 44, 46 and 47.

Bills 44, 46 and 47 will dramatically alter B.C. and Vancouver. Bill 44 concerns Provincial control of municipal planning, upzoning, eliminating public hearings, parking requirements; Bill 46 concerns development financing; and Bill 47 concerns density in transit-oriented areas. This legislation is seen by many in our industry as a necessary rebalance towards permitting more housing. However, the passage of these bills also creates uncertainty in the short term, especially for land values and projects currently in the development cycle. In response, LAI has assembled a panel of respected industry leaders to discuss the challenges and opportunities presented by this sea-change of provincial legislation
