Tour of the Recently Completed Downtown San Francisco Ferry Terminal Expansion Project and Outdoor Social Hour
Thursday, August 26th from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM - Meet at Ferry Terminal Gate G
This program will feature an interpretive outdoor walking tour of the newly constructed Downtown San Francisco Ferry Terminal Expansion project. The project was developed by the Water Emergency Transportation Authority (WETA) and designed by ROMA Design Group. The terminal expansion effectively triples WETA's berthing capacity in Downtown San Francisco, providing key infrastructure necessary to achieve ambitious long-term plans to expand public ferry service on San Francisco Bay. Project construction was completed on-time and within budget in 2020. The project was delivered through an innovative Construction Manager at Risk approach that allowed WETA to partner with its construction contractor (Power Engineering Co. based in Alameda) early in the project to participate in the design process and ultimately construct the project within a mutually negotiated guaranteed maximum price.
After the tour, there will be a social hour held at the Ferry Plaza Wine Merchant outdoor patio. (Program will be all outdoors – masks required for the unvaccinated)
