Strategic Development and Partnerships at University of Hawai‘i

The University of Hawaii System created the Office of Strategic Development and Partnership (OSDP) in June 2019 as a new initiative to lead strategic direction for the University in the coordination of real property administration for the 10 UH campuses statewide, but also to establish a program of non-academic land development of under-utilized real estate. Importantly, the OPSD established a program of non-academic land development of underutilized land and is now the lead for building UH’s capacity of system-wide real property development.  Their Atherton House project is now underway in a strategic public-private partnership with the UH, UH Foundation, and the Hunt Development Group.

Join us to hear from UH Vice President for Budget & Finance/Chief Financial Officer Kalbert Young on the background, impetus, vision, and objectives in establishing OSDP for the University.

Our LAI member and Director of OSDP Michael Shibata will share his vision and ideas on evolving OSDP direction as well as speak to current and future potential University development initiatives.
