RISING CONSTRUCTION COSTS AND SUPPLY CHAIN DISRUPTION

A panel discussion with perspectives from Southern California and beyond

Join us for a panel discussion with three major national and international construction companies to learn more about the sharply escalating cost of construction and materials. This issue has evolved into wide spread disruption to many aspects of the supply chain, where raw materials and finished building assemblies are not available or have caused significant delays.

 

PANELISTS:

 

ANDREW DEMMING, GARDINER & THEOBALD, Senior Director

Andrew is the senior director and practice leader of the Gardiner and Theobald office in Los Angeles. During the past 26 years, he has led major projects across all building sectors, including ground up mixed use, residential, hospitality, data centers, and offices. G&T, founded in London in 1835, is a leader in project and cost management, and is engaged in a wide spectrum of projects in the Southern California region and beyond. Andrew will share his perspective of construction industry impacts from an owner’s representative point of view.

 

ARTHUR R. KOZINSKI, HATHAWAY DINWIDDIE CONSTRUCTION COMPANY, Executive Vice President

Arthur is the leader of the HD Los Angeles office, and is an experienced Senior Vice President with a demonstrated history of working in the construction industry. Strong operations and business development professional skilled in Complete Project Delivery, Value Engineering, Project Estimation, CPM Scheduling, Construction, and Pre-construction. He will share his perspective of the construction industry from that of a regional construction company.

 

BRIAN ARTHUR, TURNER CONSTRUCTION, Project Executive

Starting his career at Turner's Los Angeles office in 1989, Brian has gained a deep understanding of the construction process through a multitude of projects in various roles, including project management, engineering, superintending, purchasing, cost, business development and estimating. In his current role as Project Executive, Brian is responsible for the overall performance of the projects he oversees. Brian has been an integral part of some of Turner SoCal’s most notable and complex projects, including the Wilshire Grand and LAX Midfield Satellite Concourse North. Brian will share his perspective of construction industry impacts from that of a national construction company.

 

MICHELLE MARTINI, SUFFOLK, Senior Marketing Manager, Pursuit Marketing

Michelle is the senior marketing and pursuit manager at Suffolk, which is a Boston based general contractor firm active on both east and west coasts. She brings a tremendous knowledge of construction industry issues, having worked for major construction and architectural design firms. She was recently highlighted by the Los Angeles Business Journal article - Women of Influence in Construction, Engineering and Architecture 2023. Michelle will serve as discussion moderator.
