The University of Toronto is accelerating its efforts to decarbonize the historic St. George campus through a $138 million infrastructure project – Project LEAP.  Project LEAP will phase out natural gas in favour of electricity in the campus’ central steam plant and undertake significant energy retrofits to some of the University’s most energy-intensive buildings with the goal of cutting campus emissions by 50% within only three years.  Project LEAP includes more than $50 million in financing from the Canada Infrastructure Bank, the largest to the higher-education sector. Learn how this ambitious project was taken from conception to a fully funded and accelerated reality.
