<p>The Boston Chapter will be hearing from Marc Draisen, Executive Director of the Metropolitan Area Planning Council at our next meeting on October 13, from noon – 1:15, location TBD.</p> <p>The Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC) is the regional planning agency serving the people who live and work in the 101 cities and towns of Metropolitan Boston. MPAC’s mission is to promote smart growth and regional collaboration. MPAC strives for sound municipal management, sustainable land use, protection of natural resources, efficient and affordable transportation, a diverse housing stock, public safety, economic development, clean energy, healthy communities, an informed public, and equity and opportunity among people of all backgrounds.</p> <p>Marc Draisen has served as the Executive Director at MAPC since 2002. Prior to joining MAPC, Mr. Draisen served as President and CEO of the Massachusetts Association of Community Development Corporations (MACDC). He also served two terms as state representative from Boston and Brookline (11th Suffolk District), from 1991 to 1995. In 1994, Mr. Draisen was the Democratic candidate for Lieutenant Governor of Massachusetts. Mr. Draisen graduated from Brandeis University with a Bachelor’s Degree in 1978, and from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a Master’s Degree in City Planning in 1981.</p> <p>We look forward to hearing from him, and seeing you all.
